People Homes is looking for an experienced Construction Site Supervisor to join our team on a three-month contract in Victoria. The successful candidate will oversee day-to-day residential construction work, coordinate trades and suppliers, monitor schedules and ensure every stage is completed safely and in line with approved plans and quality standards.
We are seeking a practical, well-organised professional who can confidently manage site operations, solve construction issues and communicate clearly with subcontractors, clients and management.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee daily construction activities across assigned residential sites
- Coordinate subcontractors, trades, suppliers and material deliveries
- Ensure construction follows approved plans, specifications and schedules
- Monitor workmanship, project costs, deadlines and key milestones
- Carry out regular site inspections and quality-control checks
- Identify site issues and arrange practical, timely solutions
- Maintain site diaries, inspection records and progress reports
- Provide regular construction updates to management and stakeholders
- Keep worksites safe, secure, clean and properly organised
- Monitor material availability, storage and appropriate usage
- Ensure compliance with Victorian building regulations, relevant standards and WHS requirements
- Assist with project completion, final inspections and handover
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Construction Site Supervisor or in a similar residential construction position
- Relevant qualification in Building and Construction, Civil Construction or a related discipline
- Good knowledge of Victorian building regulations and construction standards
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety practices
- Ability to read and interpret building plans, drawings and specifications
- Proven experience coordinating subcontractors, trades and suppliers
- Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage competing priorities, deadlines and multiple site activities
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Basic computer skills for site documentation, reporting and project updates
- Valid Australian driver’s licence and access to reliable transport
- Valid Construction Induction Card (White Card)
- Full Australian working rights
- Availability to work for the complete three-month contract
