Job Description

Accru Melbourne is a full-service accounting and financial advisory firm supporting individuals, SMEs, and high-net-worth clients. The firm is seeking an experienced SMSF Accountant to manage self-managed superannuation fund compliance and reporting for a growing client portfolio.

The Role

This full-time role focuses on end-to-end SMSF administration, compliance, and reporting. The successful candidate will work closely with advisors and auditors to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely SMSF outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare SMSF financial statements and annual returns
Ensure compliance with superannuation legislation and ATO requirements
Coordinate with external auditors and respond to audit queries
Process contributions, pensions, rollovers, and benefit payments
Maintain accurate SMSF records and documentation
Advise clients on compliance obligations and reporting requirements
Monitor legislative changes affecting SMSFs
Support senior advisors with SMSF strategy implementation

Role Requirements

Minimum 2 years Australian experience in SMSF accounting
Strong knowledge of SMSF legislation and compliance
Experience preparing SMSF financial statements and returns
Familiarity with BGL Simple Fund or Class Super software preferred
Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Strong attention to detail and compliance mindset
Ability to manage multiple funds and deadlines
Professional communication and client service skills
